Before interior design, I worked in an auction house, surrounded by antiques and design classics — and my love for pieces with a past never left me.Vor dem Interior Design arbeitete ich in einem Auktionshaus, zwischen Antiquitäten und Designklassikern – und die Liebe zu Dingen mit Vergangenheit ist geblieben.

I love giving beautiful objects a new home and weaving them into my projects: a lamp, a chair, a mirror or simply a vase with a story. These pieces bring character and soul to a space, making a home feel more personal and less “off the shelf”.Ich gebe schönen Dingen gern ein neues Zuhause und baue sie in meine Projekte ein: eine Lampe, ein Stuhl, ein Spiegel oder einfach eine Vase mit Geschichte. Sie bringen Charakter und Seele in einen Raum und machen ihn persönlicher, weniger «von der Stange».

I'm from Valais, my mother is German, and I've lived in nine countries across four continents. After studying at EHL in Lausanne, I spent years in hotel consulting, then worked with antiques at an auction house, before going back to school to make interior design my profession.Ich komme aus dem Wallis mit deutschen Wurzeln und habe in neun Ländern auf vier Kontinenten gelebt. Nach meinem Studium an der EHL in Lausanne arbeitete ich mehrere Jahre in der Hotelberatung und danach in einem Auktionshaus mit Antiquitäten, bevor ich noch einmal die Schulbank drückte, um Interior Design zu meinem Beruf zu machen.

I believe good design isn't about trends or perfection, and it isn't only for big homes or big budgets. The house was perfectly liveable when we moved in — but to me, it felt blank. It needed personality, warmth and, most importantly, to feel like our home.Als wir einzogen, war das Haus problemlos bewohnbar – mir kam es aber leer vor. Es brauchte Persönlichkeit, Wärme und vor allem das Gefühl, unser Zuhause zu sein.

Rather than changing everything, the project was about identifying what the house was missing and finding smart ways to make it work better for the way we live.Wir wollten nicht alles auf den Kopf stellen, sondern herausfinden, was dem Haus fehlt – und es mit klugen Lösungen besser auf unseren Alltag abstimmen.

01 —

Create more space, without extendingMehr Raum, ohne Anbau

One of our biggest wishes was to make the house feel more spacious without building an extension.Einer unserer grössten Wünsche war, dass sich das Haus grosszügiger anfühlt – ohne Anbau.

We replaced the windows and redesigned the terrace at the same level as the ground floor, creating a seamless transition between inside and outside. The result? The living space visually continues outdoors, making the entire ground floor feel larger, brighter and more connected to the garden.Wir haben die Fenster ersetzt und die Terrasse auf gleicher Höhe wie das Erdgeschoss neu gestaltet – für einen nahtlosen Übergang zwischen innen und aussen. Das Ergebnis? Der Wohnraum setzt sich optisch draussen fort, und das ganze Erdgeschoss wirkt grösser, heller und näher am Garten.

Make it family-proofFamilientauglich

A beautiful home still has to survive real life.Ein schönes Zuhause muss auch den Alltag aushalten.

With children, materials needed to be practical, durable and easy to live with. We chose a seamless resin floor throughout the main living areas — robust, low-maintenance and visually calm, creating a continuous flow from one space to another.Mit Kindern mussten die Materialien praktisch, langlebig und unkompliziert sein. Wir haben uns für einen fugenlosen Giessboden in den Hauptwohnräumen entschieden – robust, pflegeleicht und optisch ruhig, mit einem fliessenden Übergang von Raum zu Raum.

Bring in personalityPersönlichkeit hineinbringen

The original house was neutral, so colour became an important part of giving it an identity.Das Haus war ursprünglich neutral – darum wurde Farbe zu einem wichtigen Teil seines Charakters.

Instead of playing it safe, I introduced colour through selected walls, furniture, objects and playful tiles.Statt auf Nummer sicher zu gehen, habe ich Farbe über ausgewählte Wände, Möbel, Objekte und verspielte Fliesen eingebracht.

Make it personalPersönlich machen

A home shouldn’t feel like a showroom.Ein Zuhause sollte sich nicht wie ein Showroom anfühlen.

Vintage finds, art, design classics and objects collected over time were mixed with contemporary pieces to create something much more individual. It’s this combination of old and new, practical and playful, that makes the house feel like us.Vintage-Funde, Kunst, Designklassiker und über die Jahre gesammelte Objekte wurden mit zeitgenössischen Stücken gemischt – das ergibt etwas viel Eigenständigeres. Genau diese Mischung aus Alt und Neu, praktisch und verspielt, macht das Haus zu unserem.
